On Monday, US Navy famed Blue Angles aerial acrobatics team selected its first female pilot. Here we chat about First Female Pilot, Lt. Amanda Lee journey from education level to her jobs. In 76 year history of, Navy famed Blue Angles will hire a female pilot in its team. Blue Angles is major player in performance of air shows, sporting events and other flights operations.

Blue Angles has announced this selection including 6 officers in their Facebook posts. Who would join the upcoming 2023 season.


Lee whose signature call is Stalin has joined the Navy in year 2007 as a Sailor. At that time she was also attending the University of Minnesota and working at UPS location.

She is currently serving to the Gladiators of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) stationed at Naval Air Stationed Virginia.

She first worked as an aviation electronics technician. She gets her commission in 2013 and in that year she was graduated from Old Dominion University in Biochemistry subjects.

In 2016 she was designated a Naval aviator.

In 2019, Lee was one of 9 female aviators who honored with 1st military pilots.

Blue Angels Selection Process: Every year Blue Angles published advertisement and organized interview with test during the week of Pensacola Beach Air Show. In year 2022, 9th July was the date.
