Free Tourist Visa to 5 Lakh Tourists: FICCI welcomes the announcement by the government for free tourist visas to 5 lakh tourists. FICCI also welcomes the financial support extended to more than 11,000 registered travel guides and Travel & Tourism stakeholders under the new Loan Guarantee Scheme. 

Tourist Guide Loan Scheme Without Processing Fees: Further, the additional financial support through the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme and Credit Guarantee Scheme will provide a much- needed breathing space to the businesses in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry that have been facing a liquidity crisis due to the pandemic.

2.Average daily stay for a foreign tourist in India is 21 days. Average daily spending of a tourist in India is around $34 (Rs 2400). 

3.Once Visa issuance is restarted, the first 5 lakh Tourists Visas will be issued free of charge. 

4.Benefit will be available only once per tourist. 

5.The scheme will be applicable till 31st March, 2022 or till 5,00,000 visas are issued, whichever is earlier. 

6.Total financial implications- R 100 Crore.
