CGPDTM Patent Examiner Syllabus 2023 Question Papers Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) Preliminary Examination 3rd September 2023. Declaration of result of Preliminary Examination 13th September 2023.

Important Dates: 

Issuance of e-Admit Card for Mains Examination 18th September 2023 

Mains Examination 1st October 2023 

Declaration of result of Mains Examination 16th October 2023 

Issuance of e-Admit Card for Interview 22nd October 2023 

Interview 11th and 12th November 2023 

Declaration of final list of qualified candidates 17th November 2023 

The Examination will consist of three phases as follows: 

i. Preliminary Examination for screening of candidates for the main examination; 

This examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode only. c. It will consist of one paper of objective type multiple choice questions and will comprise of 150 marks\150 questions. d. This examination will be of a duration of 2 hours. multiple-choice questions to test

1.General English (15 marks), 

2.Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning (30 marks)

3.Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks), 

4.General Knowledge and Current Affairs (30 marks), 

5.General Science (30 marks) and IP legislation in India, 

6.WIPO and related treaties (15 marks)

Cut off Marks: The minimum qualifying marks in preliminary exam for UR :30%; OBC/EWS :25% and others :20%  

ii. Mains Examination for shortlisting of candidates for Interview; The mains examination will be conducted in offline mode only and have 2 papers i.e. Paper –I (OMR Based) and Paper –II (Descriptive answer). Paper I will be of 100 marks 100 objective questions.

Current Affairs (20 Marks), General Aptitude (20 Marks), Elementary mathematics (20 Marks), English language proficiency (20 Marks) and knowledge related to intellectual property rights (20 Marks).

Paper –II will be of 300 marks: technical / scientific discipline. Paper-II will be of 3 hrs duration and will comprise of 300 marks having descriptive questions.

iii. Interview: The interview will be of 100 marks.
