Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme information in Hindi: The Prime Minister launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme on 22nd January, 2015 at Panipat in Haryana, an initiative to address issues that affect women in the longer term and to reverse the trend of an adverse and declining Child Sex Ratio.

Target Groups:

a. Primary: Young and newly married couples; Pregnant and Lactating mothers; parents.
b. Secondary: Youth, adolescents (girls and boys), in-laws, medical doctors/ practitioners, private hospitals, nursing homes
and diagnostic centres.

c. Tertiary Officials, PRIs: frontline workers, women SHGs/Collectives, religious leaders, voluntary organizations, media, medical associations, industry associations.

Foundation Name: Overall Goal Celebrate the Girl Child & Enable her Education.

Objectives:

1.Prevent gender biased sex selective elimination
2.Ensure survival & protection of the girl child
3.Ensure education of the girl child
