PM Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana is also called Pradhan Mantri Saubhagya Scheme which mains objective to provide electricity to Human in the name Electricity For all. Under this PM Saubhagya Scheme applicant has to register in place of Power House or camp organized by Junior Engineers. They have form in the name of Saubhagya Scheme Application Form or Har Ghar Bijli Yojna (Free Electricity to All) in the category of 1 Kilowatt to 3 Kilowatt. Both domestic and Commercial (having 1,000 square foot field) can apply in UP Saubhagya Scheme. Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana is a central government scheme of total budget 16,000 crore.


Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, or Saubhagya, objective is to provide electricity connections to over 40 million families in rural and urban areas before December 2018. The PM Saubhagya scheme funds the cost of last village connectivity to households to achieve the goal of lighting every household .

PM Narendra Modi Saubhagya Yojana: Those not covered under BPL category (Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana) can avail it by paying Rs500 in 10 installments of Rs50 each along with their monthly bill.

Important Points:

The Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Scheme was introduced on the establishment  ceremony of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Jana Sangh.

It aims to provide 24/7 electricity services by 2019.

The government has passed the budget of the Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana scheme for Rs 16,320.

Subsidy: The consumers will also get the subsidies on equipments including meters, transformers and wires.

Eligibility Criteria: The people of urban as well as rural areas are also liable.

How to Pay Electricity bill of Saubhagya scheme: The Gram Panchayat and public institutions in the rural areas will be authorized to carry out billing and collection tasks.

Need for Saubhagya Yojana:  Around 304 million Indians live without access to electricity.
