*-- The Reserve Bank of India, relaxed norms for overseas investment by Indian corporates by raising their borrowing limit. The financial commitment should be limited within 400 per cent compared to earlier level of 100 per cent of the net worth as per the last audited balance sheet of the company. Last year, the RBI had reduced the ODI limit to 100 per cent of a company’s net worth from 400 per cent for all companies.

*-- Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner and American World War II veteran who survived two years as a prisoner of war, has died at the age of 97.

*--India’s Mars orbiter spacecraft has completed 75 per cent of its journey for its rendezvous with the red planet scheduled for September 24. The spacecraft has covered a distance of approximately 510 million kilometres on its heliocentric arc towards Mars capture, Bangalore headquartered ISRO said. With this, three-fourth of the 300-day voyage in deep space to Mars has been completed.

*--Four-party meet held in Berlin on agreed on a series of step to resume the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine. The 4 party meet was held between Foreign Ministers of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France.

*--Swamy Goud of Telangana Rashtriya Samiti party was elected as Chairman of the 40-member Telangana Legislative Council (LC) on 2 July 2014. Goud was polled 21 votes against zero votes polled for Farooq Hussain, congress candidate who contested for the chairman of Legistlative council of Telangana.

*--Ram Naresh Yadav was sworn-in as Governor of Chhattisgarh at Raj Bhawan, Raipur Madhya Pradesh, has been given the additional charge of Chhattisgarh. He was adminsterd oath of secrecy by the Chief Jusitce Yatindra Singh of Bilaspur High Court, Chhattisgarh.

*--Michelle Howard became the first female four-star admiral in US Navy. She is the first women admiral in 236 year old history of US Navy. Vice-Admiral Michelle was promoted to the highest rank of four-star admiral at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in US on 1 July 2014.
