SSC CGL Part A

1. This type of question paper:
2. Questions in this paper will include General Awareness as well as General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability.
3. Tear one paper is of 200 marks, in 120 minutes you have to solve all questions.

  1. 50 questions of Quantitative ability , 
  2. 50 questions of general awareness and 
  3. 50 questions of general intelligence & reasoning and 
  4. 50 questions of  English comprehensive.
  5. All questions are objective.
In tear 2 first papers is of quantitative ability, 100 questions of 200 marks and 2nd paper is of English comprehensive.

a) SSC CGL General Intelligence Syllabus:
It would include questions of both verbal and non verbal type. This component will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

b) SSC CGL General Awareness Syllabus:
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, economic scene, General polity and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline

SSC CGL General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability:
It would include questions of both - verbal and non-verbal type. This component will include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, Coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

SSC CGL General Awareness Previous Year :
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, economic scene, General polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Paper II: SSC CGL English Language (Conventional type)

In addition to the testing of candidates understanding of the English language and its correct usage, his writing ability would also be tested. Questions on paragraph writing/ report writing etc. may be included.

Paper III: SSC CGL Arithmetic
This paper will include questions on problems relating to number system, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentage, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of tables and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time etc.

Paper IV: SSC CGL Language Comprehension (English)
The candidate’s ability to understand correct English, his comprehension and writing ability etc. would be tested. Questions on short essay, précis, letter writing etc. would also be included.

Paper V: SSC CGL Communication Skill/Writing Ability
The candidate’s ability to understand correct English/Hindi, his comprehension and writing ability etc. would be tested. Questions on short essay, precis, letter writing etc. would also be included.


Paper VI: SSC CGL Hindi
In addition to Candidate’s understanding and knowledge of Hindi Language, its correct usage and his writing ability would also be tested. Questions on short essay, précis, paragraph/report writing, grammar (sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, phrases and idiomatic use of words, etc.) would also be included.
